The third annual GPG Penarth Local Food Festival was another resounding success. Building on the popularity of the first two years and blessed with glorious summer weather the event was a true community celebration of local food producers and suppliers.foodfest1
From the 11am start and for the duration of the day the site was filled with crowds of Penarth locals and visitors keen to sample the wide array of treats on offer.
Full report to follow shortly, meanwhile some feedback from festival participants and a facebook album of pics from the day.

Peter Knowles, Hamptons
‘We were thrilled to be involved with the GPG Penarth Food Festival again this year. The event has truly established itself as part of Penarth’s calendar of “must do” events and it’s great to see it so well supported by local food producers and Penarth residents. Events such as the Food Festival are a real indicator of a vibrant town with a great sense of pride and community spirit.’

Mark Robinson, Stanwell School
‘We really enjoyed the food festival. The event allowed us to showcase some of the healthy food choices that we provide at Stanwell School and also allowed us to chat to the community about what we do in regards to making healthy food exciting and inviting for the young adults we cater for. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Anthony, Susannah and all the GPG team for their help and support and for allowing us to be part of this great event.’

James Sommerin, Restaurant James Sommerin (due to open on the Esplanade later this year)
‘Sunday at Penarth food festival was an amazing experience for us. It was a chance for us to meet so many people and businesses of Penarth. The festival had a real community feel and the organisers were fantastic, helping with everyone’s needs and organising a great day. After taking part this year I can’t wait to be a part next year. Our daughters were also very touched by the kind donations for their crispy cakes with which they raised £97.66 for local charity Ty Hafan.’

Richard Silk, Arth Wines
‘GPG deserve big respect for creating this special local festival, many thanks and well done again.’

Deborah Meredith, Deb’s Kitchen
‘Thoroughly enjoyed our first venture to GPG Penarth Local Food Festival. We’ll be back next year. Thank you.’
